Michael Kontras - Keyboards & Vocals

Michael Kontras has been performing in front of audiences for over 50 years. During those years, he has performed nearly every genre of music from funk and dance, to country, to 50’s and 60’s oldies to classic rock. He has appeared on local and national television and toured with “Jesus Christ – Superstar” – a tour that covered 26 states in 1971, with over 120 shows performed.

Michael has been blessed to have recorded and performed with some of the best musicians in the country. He currently owns and operates Studio Artists Columbus, a private recording facility that works with up-and-coming singer/songwriters. He is the composer, author and co-author of over 100 songs, at least 60 of which have been recorded. He was part of the songwriting and performing team of “Smith and Kontras,” which garnered much attention in Nashville, creating 2 opportunities to perform on TNN’s “Charlie Daniels’ Talent Round-Up” and 3 performances at the National Writers’ Night at the famous Bluebird Café.

Michael has released 2 solo CDs. The first was an all-original, high-energy instrumental project simply called “Michael Kontras” that received high praise from local and regional media and the other was a live recording of his seven year one-man show called “Songs You Grew Up With.”
