Imagine being 5 years old: your older brother and sisters are at school all day, and you're left with nothing to do. So, while his mother cleaned, you could find five-year-old Steve: (a) reading encyclopedias; (b) terrorizing the neighborhood on his Big Wheel; or (c) learning music played on the radio by ear.
Encyclopedias are no more. And they don't make Big Wheels in Steve's size (sadly). But the piano-playing by ear did (unintentionally) mark the unofficial beginning of Steve's musical career. While he should have stuck with the lessons that his parents offered, Steve still has learned - and played publicly - piano, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars, trumpet, and - by far the most - the bass guitar. These experiences evolved into a diverse array of professional experiences, including playing in a jazz band, several "party" bands, the acclaimed Rolling Stones band, Crossfire Hurricane, and two touring, country bands.
Steve's musical influences range widely (and, by his own admission, can vary from week to week), and include Bernard Edwards, John Taylor, Bill Wyman, Leland Sklar, Nick Beggs, and the melodic bass lines of Paul McCartney. He's thrilled to join These Guys Live as its newest (and youngest as he likes to point out) member!
